I'm still myself, mostly. My day job has me working for a company in Irvine that makes high-security access control systems. I used to spend a fair amount of my leisure computer time trying to Save the Lemmings. As of 1998-1999, my leisure computer time seems to be occupied in updating web pages. (Funny, that...) I don't make as much alcoholic Jell-O as you might expect, but I do "wear the apron" in this household (cooking, shopping, anything to do with the kitchen). When I go to LASFS, I bring cookies or some other treat. Usually it's either Oatmeal Whole Wheat Butterscotch Chocolate Chip Cooky Bars or Jocelyn's Chocolate Fudge Bars. When I ran out of eggs a while back, I made Butter [Chocolate-]Chip Cookies instead and they were well-received too.

Lately (1995) I've been trying to organize my home office, and have made many trips to Ikea for Ivar shelving units. I've learned a great secret: "Put the shelves closer together!" And for the first time in my custody of the Little Fridge, I've got it up on a shelf so I don't have to bend and stoop to get a Coke or a Dr Pepper.

I've had home offices long enough, and made many attempts to Reorganize Things to build a sustainable work space... one that I can keep clean, and can find things... Well, I've noticed a tendency in myself to think that "If I could only get the right storage unit (bookcase) (filing cabinet) (clipboard system) (loose-leaf binders), the clutter will take care of itself." Now that I've been through that enough times, I'm trying to take a step back and figure out what's wrong (dysfunctional) about my work habits, so I can use the shelves I've spent so much time (and money) putting in. Will my work space finally behave itself? Or will the papers multiply and carpet every horizontal surface and a few of the vertical ones, faster than I can throw them away or file them away? Stay tuned for further developments.

September 1995 was a rough month for me, when I lost use of one eye, one or two hands, and my back. I'm all better now, though.

I can't say I've given up on the workstation idea, but as of November 1996, the amount of clutter I have amid my computers is positively overwhelming. I have 2 months to clean it up, because in January we move to Anaheim.

I've been following the science fiction tv series Babylon 5. I enjoyed it immensely, and I stayed home each week to make sure I taped each episode.
