Burbank Rail Service (Amtrak, MetroLink) There are two train stations in Burbank. One of them is near the Airport and is served by Amtrak; the other is downtown, served by MetroLink. (MetroLink will not be stopping at the Burbank Airport station anytime soon, due to a property dispute of some sort.) There are no long-distance trains stopping in Burbank. All trains originate at Santa Barbara, Oxnard, Lancaster, Los Angeles, or San Diego. Getting to the Burbank Airport via Amtrak: Amtrak runs six daily San Diegans in and out of the Burbank Airport station; three southbound and two northbound. Northbound trains from Los Angeles, continuing to Santa Barbara: trains #767, 773, 777, 783 at 11:50A(weekends), 12:15P(Mon-Fri), 4:35P, 10:45P. Southbound trains arriving from Santa Barbara, continuing on to Los Angeles: trains #774, 780, 786, at 9:45A, 3:50P, 7:55P. Please note that Burbank Airport is the only place in southern California where a rail station is next door to an airport. (LAX and Los Angeles Union Station are a considerable distance removed from each other.) A roundtrip ticket between Burbank and Los Angeles, on Amtrak, is $14.00. Getting to Burbank via MetroLink: MetroLink, the commuter train agency in Los Angeles, does not stop at the Burbank Airport Amtrak Station. There is a MetroLink station in (downtown) Burbank, at 201 N. Front St. between Verdugo and Burbank Blvd. Trains run on the Antelope Valley Line (Lancaster) and the Ventura County Line (Oxnard) through Burbank. Metrolink normally operates weekdays only, although they have been known to operate Shoppers' Specials on the big shopping weekend, i.e. the weekend after Thanksgiving.
