HOTELS ANAHEIM HILTON & TOWERS - ANAHEIM MARRIOTT It's just a two-minute walk to the Anaheim Hilton from the Convention Center. L.A.con II attendees will remember that the Hilton's quality accommodations included fifth floor suites opening onto a common outdoor area, creating a communal, midsummer night party atmosphere. The Hilton also has full ballroom and meeting facilities, offering a lot of flexibility for programming, special interest meetings, dances, and late-night events. The Anaheim Marriott flanks the Hilton. We enjoyed holding the 1989 Westercon in the Marriott. Additional tidbits & trivia If you have a question about either hotel that isn't covered here, write us at lacon3-help@netcom.com and we'll try to track down the answers. What are the convention rates? How do I reserve my room? Hotel rates will be announced in a future Progress Report, watch this space. (Yes, that's right, the Hilton has a 13th floor, but no 10th.) Rooms on the 5th floor open out onto either the pool deck, or one of two astroturfed decks. The "Towers" in the name (Anaheim Hilton & Towers) just refers to the 14th floor. The Marriott has two guest towers. + The East Tower contains guest floors 2-12, 14-19. It has the low-numbered rooms, for example rooms 1600-1639. This is the tower above the hotel's main entrance & front desk. + The North Tower (i.e., the one to the west) contains guest floors 2-12, 14-17. It has the high-numbered rooms. This is the tower above the function space (also known as the "Marriott Hall") and closer to the Anaheim Convention Center. Which hotel is closer to the Anaheim Convention Center?
