RECIPE: Sausage Cheese Balls - Mom's special biscuits 1 lb bulk sausage (buy the Farmer John's Hot variety; if you can't find a "hot" pound of sausage, add in Cayenne pepper) 1/2 lb cheddar cheese 3 cup bisquick Mix it all together. Just wash your hands, get a BIG bowl, flour your hands (or use the bisquick) and start mixing all the ingredients together, until everything's thoroughly mixed. Then start forming 1/2" balls. This will take you a while. When you've got those sausage cheese balls ready to cook, you can either cook them all, or you can layer them in waxed paper and store them in an airtight bag in the freezer for cooking later. Cook at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve as an appetizer, or as a small munchie. Good for toaster oven treatment. [This is what Mom brings to our Christmas gatherings. Last year I brought Chili Cheese Balls, which basically use diced green chilis instead of sausage. But the proportions for that recipe didn't seem right; when I finish tinkering with it, I'll share that one with you too.] June 1991 Hazel Boston-Baden, P.O. Box 17522, Anaheim CA 92817. * * * * *
