Recipes: Traditional Baden Garlic Bread, Barrett Family Garlic Bread, Cheese-Free Garlic Bread Mix Recipe: Traditional Baden Garlic Bread - 375 F Oven 1 lb. loaf of french bread, sliced diagonally but not all the way through. (Francisco and Di Carlo brands sell it that way.) 2 sticks of butter, soft 2 TB Schilling Salad Supreme seasoning, or Lawry's Salad Sprinkle. OR: 2 TB Cheese-Free Garlic Bread Mix (see below) Optional: 1-2 TB Garlic powder, or to taste Mix the butter and the Salad Supreme together in a small bowl. Whip it up. (Whip it good.) Wrap loaf in aluminum foil; open it up on top for the buttering & seasoning. Liberally spread the mixture on both sides of every slice, plus the top of the loaf. Close up the foil, bake for a while. Open up the top of the foil, put it back in the oven to brown the top. Remove, serve. Cheesy Variation: Add Parmesan/Romano cheese to the spread. Recipe: Traditional Barrett Garlic Bread - Broiler 1/2 lb loaf of sourdough french bread. butter Garlic Salt Parmesan/Romano cheese, grated. Slice bread into slices, lay out on a cookie sheet. Lynn has a new medication that prevents her from having cheese; and our usual garlic bread recipe features a spice mix that includes dried romano cheese. So... we made up a substitute.
