The port side promenade deck, looking forward. This is the original teak decking from 1936, showing the wear since then. The boat deck, one level up, has been repaired, and this deck will get the treatment soon.

The square "mushroom" vent seen here on the after Sun deck is actually a replacement replica for the original, which was destroyed when a hot dog stand was built here in the 1970s. When the Verandah Grill (windows to the left) was restored in the late 1990s, sheet metal replacements for the lost ventilators were created.

This panel features all the 56 kinds of wood used in the Queen Mary, from all parts of the old British Empire. Some of the types of trees involved are now extinct. The panel was originally a promotional exhibit that travelled in Europe and the US before the ship was finished; it is now mounted on the Promenade deck in front of the now non-operational starboard elevators in the Shopping Centre.

This is one of the original shops in Queen Mary's "Piccadilly Circus" shopping centre on Promenade Deck. It was originally a tobbaconist.
