I confess, I'm feeling nostalgic about College Park, CMHS, old friends and classmates. I left Orange County in 1984, went to college in Chico, CA, and I've been living since 1988 in Budapest, Hungary.
I visit Costa Mesa at least once a year (with my 11-year old daughter, Hanna) and I regularly connect with Duncan Millar and Greg Sabala. I've also met up with Charles Baden, Art Chasen, Roberto Jara, and a handful of others.
For me, this is personal archeology. We're different people now, but we share some defining moments. It's fun to rediscover that. (And I'm often amazed at what I *don't* remember.)
I've enjoyed hearing from Roberto, Greg and Charles. If anyone else cares to share a few anecdotes I'd be grateful. (And yes, I suppose some of you might not care to walk down memory lane with me -- apologies in advance.)
Charles wrote: "remember the talent show where Steve Carlson did a dramatic recital of "Jabberwocky" with a cape and a sword?"
That was a poetry competition, and I won first prize. (A little revenge on Greg for his toastmaster's triumph :-) There was a talent show, but I took part in an escape act with Bill Rivea. Bill was the Great Zuchini, I was the Great Martini, and I think Roberto was the Great Burrito (I may have that wrong!)
