That large, ominous, draped box in the back yard is the end view of our entertainment center which is lying on its side. (It's too tall to go out the door standing up.) We're going to bring it back in and put it next to the fireplace, to the left of the sliding glass door. The couch is out there too, and will be placed to the right of the sliding glass door. The first and second pictures were both taken from about the same point. I just used the "zoom" for the second shot. The second picture has a clear view of the new light switch and repainted receptacle.

Starlit the Cat came in to investigate, and was the first resident of the house to walk on the new carpet pad. (This means that we've permanently installed cat hair under our new carpet.) After discovering people she didn't know, she retreated to the master bedroom.

First picture: View of front end of living room. The corner on the left will receive a "wide, tall" bookcase, and two more CD towers to join the four CD towers shown next to the fireplace. (31-Mar-2001) Second picture: The new living room carpet. (29-Mar-2001) Third picture: The television, VCR, cable tv cord, and stereo are in various stages of installation. (31-Mar-2001) Fourth picture: The second CD tower has been pulled away from the wall so we can get to the power receptacles behind it. The entertainment center is ready to go, with the possible exception of filling up the cupboards with our video collection.
