In July 1999, we had a party at my house, where we decorated a whole flock of plastic lawn flamingos. Then in August, we exhibited twenty of them at the Conucopia: 1999 NASFiC Art Show. These pictures were taken there.

Pictures recovered with help from Matthew Randolph.

Flamidala by Colleen Crosby dominated the table, and was one of three flamingos based on Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

Lord Darth Maulingo - Buffed by Sue Dawe was another star of the show. The detailing is as authentic as possible, given the constraints of turning Darth Maul into a flamingo. The flamingo was given a base coat of red curb striping paint, and black enamel paint is used on top of it. The horns are hand-sculpted.
