RECIPE: Coffee Sauce Ingredients 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup water 2 TB. instant coffee powder 2 TB. butter 1/2 cup heavy cream Preparation Place the sugar and water in a heavy saucepan and set over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes, or until the sugar has melted and you have a clear, smooth syrup. Add the coffee, stir to dissolve, then remove from the heat. Gradually stir in first the butter, then the cream, blending well. Store sauce in an airtight container in refrigerator until ready to use. Makes about 2 cups.
