They are definitely NOT for kids! If you want to try them, you need to start them ASAP, as they need to cure for a while. (Oh, if you have extras left, put them away somewhere if you can....they get even nicer as they age!) ******************************************************************* CHERRY BOMBS ******************************************************************* 1 jar maraschino cherries with stems. 1 bottle of vodka chocolate chips shortening (maybe) How much of each depends on the quantity you are making. (We use the 1 pound jar of cherries) Instructions: Drain juice from cherries and replace with vodka. Recap and put in your refrigerator or other cool place for 2-4 WEEKS. (2 weeks MINIMUM!) On the day you are ready to fix them, drain the cherries and place them on a wire rack over paper towels. Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler or your microwave...how much depends on how mmany cherries you've gotten ready. Swirl each cherry in the chocolate and place on a piece of waxed paper. If the chocolate doesn't swirl welll, add a tiny bit of shortening to it. let cool. They are really pretty package in those little paper muffin style cups (the tiny ones) or on iridescent paper in a pretty tin or box. Please make sure that only adults consume them, as they do get a bit potent, and we wouldn't want any children to inadvertently get into them. They can make a pretty and unique hostess gift. Enjoy!
